Notes
Survey number HABS OH-667
Significance: The Columbus Near East Side is a large residential area which developed between 1880 and 1930. However, small commercial areas are located along Oak Street, an east-west street, at its intersections with north-south streets. The buildings located in these areas are generally two-story brick and frame structures with little ornamentation. 1102-1112 Oak Street, which is larger in scale than most such buildings, contained businesses on the first floor and apartments on the second. Original occupants of the storefronts included a druggist, grocer, barber, tailor, and dry goods store.
