Significance: The Patrol Cabins in the Park represent the country's early national park mission: the conservation and protection of areas selected for their outstanding natural features and the provision o access to these areas through the development of transportation resources. These cabins, spaced one day's dog sled travel apart, formed the backbone of the patrol system.
