Significance: This large, asymmetrical building exemplifies picturesque domestic architecture of the late nineteenth century. Like Main, the Senior House is a shingle-style Queen Anne structure, though not all its original architectural elements are in tact. The ideas that the building type connoted, from leisure to good taste, embodied the pedagogical focus of the school. The Senior House was used as a dormitory. Its creation with NPS's first decade of operation was a testament to the growth and popularity of the school. Some reports suggest that T.F. Schneider, the architect of the inn, also designed the Senior House, but this statement was not collaborated by any documentation.
