Notes
Survey number HABS LA-1163
Significance: This church, begun in 1851, was built by the diocese because the town had grown sufficiently and needed the "moral up-lifting" of its own church. The central tower was added in 1856, the seating area and corner towers in the late 1800's. It is constructed of native cypress with a shingle roof. Brick buttresses, with pinnacled tops, added in the late 1800's have disappeared. Craftsmanship is good but details are primitive in design.
