Building/structure dates: 1825 initial construction
Significance: 1213 W. Main Street, probably built between 1832-1825, has early associations with James Dinsmore, a master craftsman employed by Thomas Jefferson on the construction of the University of Virginia. One of the finest Federal-style townhouses in Charlottesville, its carefully detailed interior is largely intact.
