Significance: This site is an early example of a primitive frontier farm built in north central Florida. The log portion of the residence is believed to have been built by a one-armed Confederate veteran named E. Rogerson just after the Civil War. The house was first occupied by the Fish family in 1891, remaining their home until 1952. The architecture is one of expediency, and illustrates how early settlers of the area met the challenges of the environment.
