Building/structure dates: 1847 initial construction
Significance: Erected in 1847, the mission church of St. Matthew's is one of the oldest meeting houses in Saltsburg, and one of two such facilities build under the auspices of Fr. Wimmer, the founder of St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa., who became the first arch-abbot in America.
