Notes
Survey number HABS MO-1252-F
Significance: Harry G. Horton, City Engineer and later owner of the Horton Stone Company, built this large frame house in 1907-08 and lived in it for decades to follow. The older of two bungalows in the study area, it displays classic elements - single sweeping gable with exposed and bracketed rafters and central dormer, exterior chimney, picturesque window placement - and a corner front porch, which earmarks it as an early example of the genre. Subsequent additions to the rear and alterations have compromised its integrity unfortunately, but the original form is still evident.
