Building/structure dates: 1828 initial construction
Significance: This structure housed the first bank chartered by the State of Florida. // The Bank of Florida, built in 1828. housed the first bank to be chartered by the State of Florida. Local tradition holds that Federal troops occupying Tallahassee after the Civil War used the building as a powder magazine.
