Significance: Established January 7, 1828, Christ Church is the second oldest Episcopal congregation in Alabama. / Portions of the present Gothic style structure date to the original 1829 sanctuary. William Nichols, the English architect who designed the Tuscaloosa Capital and the original University campus, also designed this structure.
