Unprocessed field note material exists for this structure (FN-58).
Significance: One of the early timber frame houses of Washington, this nearly square clapboard structure was built ca. 1795 and was the childhood home of Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston. The house also has been linked to Union General William Nelson.
