Building/structure dates: 1930 initial construction
Building/structure dates: 1979 subsequent work
Significance: Base cabin built by Alaska Road Commission for the 1930 season. As early as 1922 a tent at the site provided shelter for rangers on patrol. It continued this function through the 1940's. Noted wildlife biologist Adolph Murie used the cabin as his base during the summers of 1940 and 1941.
